Our Story &
Our Mission

Since 2017, we have been on a journey to uncover the world's most exceptional food products and deliver them straight to kitchens across the United Kingdom.

Where It All Began

A Family Passion for Exceptional Food

SIVA began in 2017 as a modest family venture, born from a deep appreciation for the extraordinary flavours that small-scale producers create around the world. Our founder grew up in a household where meals were prepared with intention, using ingredients sourced not for convenience but for quality. That upbringing planted a seed that eventually grew into a business dedicated to making those same exceptional ingredients available to everyone.

What started as a curated selection of specialty spices from South Asia quickly expanded as word spread among food enthusiasts and professional chefs alike. Customers kept asking for more, and we kept exploring. Within two years, our range had grown to include artisan oils, rare honeys, heritage grains, single-origin chocolates, and organic preserves sourced from more than a dozen countries.

Today, operating from our facility in Whyteleafe, Surrey, we offer over 500 products from more than 35 countries. Despite our growth, the principles that guided our first sourcing trip remain unchanged: personal relationships with producers, rigorous quality standards, and an unwavering commitment to authenticity.

Our Values

What Drives Us Every Day

Our values are not aspirational statements on a wall. They are the practical principles that guide every sourcing decision, every customer interaction, and every product we bring to market.

Direct Relationships

We work directly with producers, not through middlemen. This means better prices for the people who grow and craft our products, and complete transparency for you. We know the name and story behind every item in our catalogue, and we are proud to share them.

Uncompromising Quality

Every product undergoes a thorough evaluation before it earns a place on our shelves. Our team assesses flavour profiles, checks certifications, verifies ingredient lists, and conducts shelf-life testing at our Surrey facility. If a product does not meet our standards, it simply does not make the cut.

Sustainability First

We prioritise producers who use organic, regenerative, or traditional farming methods. Our packaging is recyclable and compostable wherever possible, and we are constantly exploring ways to reduce our carbon footprint across the supply chain, from farm to front door.

Fair Trade & Ethics

We pay fair prices to our producers and support community initiatives in the regions where we source. Our buying practices ensure that the people behind our products can sustain their livelihoods and continue their craft for generations to come.

Education & Transparency

We believe you deserve to know where your food comes from. Each product listing includes detailed origin information, tasting notes, and suggested uses. Our blog and newsletter share recipes, producer profiles, and seasonal guides to help you make the most of every ingredient.

Customer-Centred Service

We treat every customer as part of the SIVA family. Our team is available to answer questions, offer product recommendations, and resolve issues promptly. Over 12,000 customers across the UK trust us to deliver quality, and we take that trust seriously.

Our Sourcing Process

From Producer to Your Pantry

Sourcing exceptional food is part science and part intuition. Our buying team spends several weeks each year travelling to meet producers in person. We visit orchards in Andalusia, spice farms in Kerala, chocolate plantations in Ecuador, and salt harvesting sites on the Brittany coast. These trips are not just about tasting products; they are about understanding the people, the land, and the traditions that shape each ingredient.

Once a product passes our initial assessment in the field, samples are sent to our Surrey facility for further evaluation. We check aroma, texture, colour, shelf stability, and compliance with UK food safety regulations. Only products that pass every stage are approved for our catalogue.

This meticulous process means that our catalogue grows deliberately rather than rapidly. We would rather offer 500 truly outstanding products than thousands of mediocre ones. When you choose an item from SIVA, you can be confident it represents the best available in its category.
